Depression and Mania are 2 opposing phases of Bipolar disorder. Here are the symptoms and Causes Bipolar Disorder listed out for both the phases of bipolar disorder:
Manic phase:
Energy boost: The person in manic phase experiences long lasting energy and can do anything. Few times, he may get irritated and can fight with anyone who comes his way.
Poor judgement: The patient affected with bipolar disorder may behave in an inappropriate way. The person might take decisions regarding business or any finances very quickly in a hurried way.
Disoriented thoughts: The person affected with bipolar disorder may experience a group of mixed thoughts. He may react to a situation very peacefully or sometimes get distracted or talk about his ideas.
Severe mood changes: The patient experiences mood changes very often. He can be happy for a situation and sometimes react aggressively to the same situation. The patient also feels irritated quite often.
Distracted speech: The person with manic bipolar disorder does not give a logical speech; he talks in a hurried way as if he is in stress.
Depression phase:
Physical changes: Person affected with depression bipolar disorder experiences a severe pain which cannot be explained. He may gain weight or sometimes lose weight. Also sometimes he may get very nervous for no cause.
Disorientation: The patient cannot concentrate on the tasks given. The patient cannot concentrate on the tasks given. He also suffers from loss of self-control and looks mostly disoriented.
Suicide thoughts: This is one of the severe symptoms of depression bipolar disorder. The person thinks on different ways to commit suicide. He loses interest on life. He feels as if he is alone and gets separated from everyone.
Emotional changes: The patient may cry continuously for many hours and may feel worthless. He can be angry, worried and irritated.
